Open call for NYC Choreographers to perform NEW or a work-in-progress at The Theater of Chen Dance Center and receive feedback from established artists.

newsteps: a choreographers Series is a CURATED showcase for emerging or mid-career artists at The Theater of Chen Dance Center. This semi-annual series, est. in 1994, is dedicated to experimental, innovative, and risk-taking creators and provides selected artists with studio space, a professionally-produced shared evening bill, an artist honorarium, support in Marketing and Production. The Theater is a professional black box venue that presents the work of H.T. Chen & Dancers and serves the New York City dance community and audiences from the metropolitan area.

To reserve an audition spot, call us on September 18th only, from 3:00pm - 6:00pm.

Live Audition on October 2nd, video submissions not accepted. NO application or performance fees and NO age limit.

Performance dates: December 5-7, 2019 at The Theater of Chen Dance Center.
