Seeking Male/Female performers for 'live human sculpture court' by Heidi Latsky Dance

Physically diverse living human sculptures dressed in white. United Nations - Darial Sneed

Take part in ON DISPLAY a 'live human sculpture court' in celebration of two initiatives:  October's National Disability Employment Awareness Month and the United Nations' International Day of Persons with Disabilities as part of a worldwide initiative ON DISPLAY GLOBAL.

ON DISPLAY by Heidi Latsky Dance is a deconstructed art exhibit and commentary on the body as a spectacle and society’s obsession with body image.  It turns a diverse cast into a sculpture court of living statues.  This movement installation will involve focus, stillness, and structured improvisation.

We are looking for an all-inclusive cast:  All ages (18+), shapes, sizes, races, genders, including those with visible disabilities.  No previous formal training in this technique required.

All training will take place in Manhattan. Performances will take place in Bronx/Queens/Manhattan (Must be able to provide your own transportation.)

Performance opportunities: October 12, 2019 Noon (in East Harlem) and December 3 in Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan.  October 12th performance will be filmed to be part of a worldwide video-cast at the UN and all ON DISPLAY GLOBAL locations.

Attend a training/rehearsal workshop in Manhattan:

Tues., Oct. 8, 2019:  1:15pm—3:15pm

Tues., Oct. 8, 2019:  3:30pm—5:30pm

Please note that these are community service and social justice performances.

To sign up for a training/rehearsal workshop or for more information, please contact heather@heidilatskydance.org.  Please include your name, phone #, and your availability for the training and performance dates above.  Returnees are encouraged to attend a workshop as a refresher, however it is not mandatory.
