Project Manager, Cultural Access Innovation during COVID

The Project Manager, Cultural Access Innovation during COVID, at the Museum, Arts and Culture Access Consortium (MAC) leads this grant-funded research project to document cultural access innovation for people with disabilities at this time.  This documentation will serve as a snapshot of current engagement for people with disabilities, in order to expand cultural accessibility, now and in the future, and as a guide for designing professional development opportunities for arts access professionals and advocates during COVID-19. This dynamic, analytical and creative accessibility professional will be tasked with charting strategy and executing this 6- month project.

 

An integral part of the MAC team, the Project Manager will report to the MAC Officers. Duties include but are not limited to: 

- Strategize key goals for collecting information nation-wide and disseminating findings broadly

- Design, collect and analyze findings for/from assessments to document accessibility cultural programming innovation for people with disability during organizational closures in response to COVID-19

- Develop content, based on findings, to disseminate on MAC website and other outlets 

- Apply findings from nation-wide surveys to create professional development training plan for teaching artists, disability advocates and arts administrators to deepen their skillsets

- Contribute to team that designs, plans and facilitates professional development workshops for teaching artists, disability advocates and arts administrators at the highest level of accessibility, in response to COVID-19

- Serve as Museum, Arts and Culture Access Consortium leadership and attend steering committee meetings and officer meetings (approx 3 hours per month) 

- Collaborate with a team of arts administrators, teaching artists, consultants, and interns with a wide range of disabilities

 

Ideal candidate will have:

- Personal and/or professional experience with disability communities

- Strong understanding of accessibility programs across disability groups in a cultural setting

- Demonstrated passion for inclusion and equity in arts accessibility 

- Working knowledge of cultural organizations and arts accessibility, ideally through educational and/or community programs

- Proven experience designing and leading accessibility trainings

- Fluency in digital accessibility accommodations for workshops and resources

- Working understanding of digital accessibility, including WCAG standards and W3C resources to assess inclusively designed programs

- Ability to analyze complex data and synthesize in a variety of formats (graphs, written, presentations)

- Strong documentation, coordination, presentation and writing skills with a variety of digital platforms

- Independent and self-motivated worker, with ability to set individual goals, and manage a complex and rapidly-progressing project while working remotely

- Demonstrated completed research projects, culminating in published reports and presentations

- Strong skills in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders

 

Rate of Pay: $40/hour

Approximate Hour per Week: 8 hours
