Open call for Choreographers for SPRINGbreak ChoreoFest 2021

SPRINGbreak ChoreoFest 2021

Due to COVID-19 we’re giving SBCF a face-lift for 2021. The heart of the program has not changed – to provide professional development, resources, and support for emerging choreographers. This year we have four mentors that will be providing daily challenges for the choreographers.

Applications now open. Visit t2dance.org/sbcf2021 to apply.

DETAILS

March 24–27: daily rehearsals.
March 28: webinar with mentors at 3pm MT

Choreographers will have a two hour rehearsal each day (Wednesday through Saturday) working with a different T2 Dance Company dancer to complete a challenge set by the mentors.

Each daily challenge should culminate in ~1 minute of choreography that is filmed at the end of each rehearsal.

Mentors review all daily videos and provide feedback to the choreographers each evening.

The festival concludes with a webinar on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 3pm MT. This webinar will feature behind-the-scenes footage of rehearsals, comments and discussions from the mentors, and the Guest Choreographer will be announced.

Choreographers will have a chance to meet others in the program at virtual lunches each day.

GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER: One choreographer will be selected and have the opportunity to set a work on the company for a performance in the 2021–2022 season. The GC will receive a $500 honorarium. Rehearsals with the company may be via zoom if travel is not possible.
