Seeking Dance Film Choreographers for "Dance Film Mixtape" Virtual Performance

Dancer in red dress atop Brooklyn roof Christian Galan

We are selecting four choreographers to present either an existing dance film work or create an original work to show as part of a shared evening entitled "Dance Film Mixtape" curated by Grammy-nominated choreographer Leslie Guyton and presented by The Tank.  Each artist will show a piece of approximately 3-5 minutes followed by a Q + A led by Leslie Guyton and in conversation with the audience.  The theme of this first ever "Mixtape" is "Healing."

COMPENSATION

$50 stipend to each choreographer.  All additional proceeds go to benefit The Tank, to ensure they can keep their arts organization running during such a vulnerable time for the arts in New York.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The theme of this first "Mixtape" is "Healing".

Please email leslieellenguyton@gmail.com with a short artist statement that lets us know who you are and why you are interested in this presentation.

If you would like to create an original dance film to be presented, please send 1-2 samples of your work as well as a description of the concept you have in mind for your original work.

If you have an already existing piece, you can submit a link to that work and a short description about your intention behind the work.

Do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

The deadline for submissions is 10pm on Sun Nov 29th.  If you miss this deadline, feel free to submit anyway, as this will likely become an ongoing series and we would consider your work for a future date.
