The NEW DIRECTIONS showcase initiative for BOOKING DANCE FESTIVAL 2021 will be offering virtual showcases featuring new work CREATED or filmed during the Pandemic in 2020 along with virtual programming available to theaters NOW. Plans are in place for a "showcase brunch" featuring a "dance buffet" with "menus" of virtual courses by participating artists.


APAP 2021 Showcases

Application Deadline - Tuesday, December 22, 2020

Booking Dance Festival offers an APAP experience unlike any other. From networking opportunities and Producer Jodi Kaplan's incredible success rate of performance bookings to artistic commissions and connections with renowned presenters, JK&A's APAP showcases put artists at the center of it all.
Moving into our 9th annual high-profile dance extravaganza, we invite artists to apply for consideration to participate in this year's virtual lineup. We include a diverse range of guest artists across many different dance genres along with our roster companies. A once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Submitted work must be completed and edited for consideration. What we receive is what will be reviewed and if accepted this is exactly what will be streamed. Submissions reviewed in the order received.
Two time slots available:


1) up to 7 MINUTES
2) up to 12 MINUTES

DEADLINES 
APPLICATIONS DUE: TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2020*
ACCEPTANCE CONFIRMATIONS: DECEMBER 27, 2020
PAPERWORK AND PAYMENTS: DECEMBER 29, 2020

There are two subcategories in the NEW DIRECTIONS showcases:
*CREATED: dance CREATED/FILMED DURING PANDEMIC
*NOW: PROMOTING PANDEMIC PROGRAMMING for dance (this also covers theatrical works that you want highlighted) available now for presenters to virtually book

DETAILS:
The virtual dance showcases in NEW DIRECTIONS: BOOKING DANCE FESTIVAL will showcase selections of work that are available to presenters NOW. They can be streamed or performed in a theater or outdoors NOW (without an audience or with limited capacity due to COVID regulations). Alternatively, these works can be dance films & projects CREATED or filmed during the Pandemic (including past pieces re-filmed), and designed to entice presenters to connect with the artists and consider doing virtual engagements such as commissions by the theaters for private performance experiences in their series and/or virtual outreach activities. The goal is for presenters to develop an interest in artists for both current and future programming.

Presenters will be sold on the concept of a showcase for:
