CALL FOR PRE-PROFESSIONAL DANCERS

Dancer and choreographer Keanu Mohammed is searching for 4 pre-professional contemporary dancers to assist in an upcoming program application. Due to the circumstances/nature of the opportunity, this is a volunteered gig, however compensation can be discussed. Rehearsals are inteded to commence as early as next week (week of Jan 9-16 2021) as application is soon approaching. Online/In person auditions will not be held, however dancers must include a headshot (professionally not necessary but must be clear), dance reel/videos of their skillset, and a short introductory paragraph about themselves and work they have done. Keanu Mohammed joined the Metamorphosis Dance Company in 2016 and has performed for the company through years 2016-2018. Keanu attended the contemporary/jazz 2016 summer intensive at the Joffrey Ballet School, where he qualified to perform all 3 auditioned pieces. In the year 2017 he mounted his first choreographic work “Dyad," performed at the COCO Dance festival. From then on, he continued to choreograph and perform a duet in 2018 entitled  “A Race Against Time,” for the All Dance International competition held in Orlando, in which, the duet placed 1st in the respective contemporary dance category. In 2019, he produced another choreographic work for the COCO Dance Festival entitled “Kotton & Kane,” and 4 contemporary pieces for the competition team of Caribbean School Of Dancing for the All Dance International competition. Of his 4 pieces, 2 placed winning 3rd and 1st trophies. In 2020, Kotton and Kane was selected to be part of the New Century Dance Project dance festival in Salt Lake City, however due to Covid-19, performances are held at a stand still. Keanu is currently pursuing his degree in business management at SBCS and still takes classes at Caribbean School of Dancing, hoping to pursue a career of creative/artistic entrepreneurship.
