Spectrum Dance Theater/Donald Byrd Audition for 2021/22 SEASON

 
Spectrum Dancers in Performance

Spectrum Dance Theater, under the direction of Donald Byrd, is seeking dancers for the 2021-2022 Season.

 

Full-time company contracts, including weekly salary and touring opportunities. 

Relocation to Seattle, WA is required for the duration of the contract.

 

In-person audition at Spectrum Dance Theater in Seattle, WA on JULY 24th.

 

Donald Byrd’s process requires that dancers have a willingness to work collaboratively, are technically proficient, and have an interest in The Company’s focus on social justice and climate change. 

 

The audition will be invite-only. Please send an email to spectrumaudition@gmail.com and include the following:

--Name, Address, Phone Number

--Headshot and Resume

--A video of group or solo performance and a video that includes partnering. Videos can be in-studio or on stage; please make certain you are clearly identified.

Upon submission of your video, Artistic Director Donald Byrd will select dancers to attend the in-person audition on July 24th.

Please upload videos no later than June 14th; Vimeo (no password) and Youtube links preferred

All submissions, whether accepted or not, will receive a response via email by June 28th.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to work legally in the USA.

 

**Spectrum Dance Theater will host its annual Company Workshop from July 19th-23rd in Seattle, WA. If you take the workshop in person, you will automatically receive an invitation to the audition on July 24th. It is HIGHLY encouraged that interested applicants attend this workshop leading up to the audition. 

If you plan to attend the Company Workshop, please indicate so with your submission.
