ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Black Lives Rising” is a Virtual Dance Film Festival, showcasing the creative voices of artists who desire to share a meaningful message about the Black experience in current times. Blackness comes in all different shades, experiences, and expressions. Through sharing your unique message, you offer a higher truth that invites healing, celebration, awareness, and empowerment not only of Black people, but the human race. The Festival is supported in part by a LMCC, Creative Engagement Grant, and is partnership with the  non profit organization, Active Plus Inc. This is a grass roots endeavor.

A crowdfunding campaign will launch in mid October. The festival will be premiere via its landing page/website (currently under construction) in early December.

Please send a resume and or cover letter if interested.
