The Lowcoco, a dance theater company, is looking for a stage manager for a dance theater show that will be performed at Target Margin Theater in Brooklyn, the week of Jan 3-9, 2022. The show, roughly 60 mins and titled “The Emus” is based on the real-life incident in which the Australian military was sent to take out some 20,000 emus that were destroying farmers’ wheat. You can probably guess who won the war….
Rehearsals will take place in November and beg-mid December (breaking for the holiday season). Availability is required the week of Jan 3-9, the rest of the schedule can be worked out later.
This is a paid gig - $700 min for the performance week of Jan 3-9, 2022, as per the Off-Broadway Equity guidelines, and $15-$18/hour for rehearsal hours. Number of rehearsal hours in which SM is required to be there is to be determined.

Company info
The Lowcoco is a dance theater company that makes music, dance and theater that isn’t musical theater, musical theater that isn’t Broadway. Formed by Yeujia Low, the Lowcoco creates silly shows, sad shows and sometimes shows that are both. Our projects take the form of both live theater shows as well as videos. Though the company was formed just this year, our short film “Animal Empire”, made using Animojis and cutout animation, was reviewed by the New York Times, who particularly enjoyed the “very amusing singing cameos” by a snail and a sloth, and the animals’ insurrection that was “vividly animated like a music video”.
Prior to that, Yeujia has presented work at Exponential Festival, Prelude Festival, Triskelion Arts, the Actors Fund Arts Center, Movement Research and Singapore’s RAW Moves. The company has an upcoming event in October, some filming planned for October/November, a show in January, a likely overseas show in March and more.
