Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival logo

Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival (D2D) is currently seeking 1-2 pro-active, creative & enthusiastic intern(s) to join our team!

Founded by Award-Winning Director/Choreographer Sarah Elgart, D2D is an international dance film festival dedicated to democratizing dance. Entering our fifth season, D2D is committed to promoting dance that happens in the public realm – beyond traditional studios, schools, and stages – dance that explores place and space, creating community and engaging the public as it intersects creatively with film. D2D presents films that explore dance as an urgent, potent, universal language… films that transform our ideas of what it is to be human.

We are looking for interns that specialize in social media, marketing and/or development for a 5 hr per week commitment. Grant research & writing skills also welcome. This position works remotely, interns can create their own schedule & be based anywhere (D2D is based in Los Angeles, CA.)

D2D is led by Sarah and Creative Producer/Movement Director Zoe Rappaport. We are looking for highly skilled & motivated people to join the D2D family who are passionate about the genre of screendance and interested in further developing their experience in this field as well as contributing to the growth of D2D. Sarah has been working in the intersection of dance and the camera for her entire career and generously provides an unparalleled wealth of knowledge. This is an incredible opportunity for the right person/people to learn, grow and be a part of a dance film festival with a strong commitment to upholding the integrity of dance film while diversifying the playing field.

Every year, we have an esteemed panel of judges from the worlds of dance & film, and this year is no different. This season we are joined by: Award-Winning Director & Filmmaker Extraordinaire Adi Halfin; Go-to Creative Movement Director for the world's most progressive brands Stephen Galloway; Award-Winning Director/Choreographer (David Bowie) & Former Muse of La La La Human Steps Louise Lecavalier; and HBO Legendary, Founder of House of Nina Oricci & Les Ballet Afrik Omari Wiles.

TO APPLY: Interested applicants should submit a cover letter detailing their work experience & interest in being a part of D2D along with their cv/resume to Sarah and Zoe at daretodanceinpublic@gmail.com

Thank you & we look forward to receiving your applications!
