Part Time Customer Service Assistant - Education

The Mark Morris Dance Group seeks two part-time Customer Service Assistants with excellent organization, communication, and inter-personal skills, to join the six-person Education and Community Engagement Department. Reporting to the Youth and Family Programs Director, the Customer Service Assistant are front-facing, customer service-oriented team members, who will support program implementation and logistics and the overall experience of customers at the vibrant, bustling Mark Morris Dance Center. Collaborating with the Education and Community Engagement team as well as the Dance for PD team, the Customer Service Assistant plays an essential role in connecting with our community at the Dance Center.
The Education and Community Engagement Programs reflect the spirit of the Mark Morris Dance Group in its celebration of dance and music. We believe that dance is for anybody and aim to provide excellent dance and music experiences for all ages, levels of experience, with and without disabilities. We offer a diverse range of classes, both in-person and online, and strive to be a center of artistic exploration for children and families, community members and professional dancers.

RESPONSIBILITIES, include, but are not limited to:
Serving as a first point of contact for Dance Center visitors to help manage greeting, wayfinding, in-person registration and answering faculty, student, and family inquiries regarding Education and Community Engagement Programs.
Responding to additional customer service needs via email, voicemail, and phone.
Keeping an ear to the ground to understand customer experience and provide feedback to the Operations and Education and Community Engagement teams.
Assisting with class counts, prop cleaning and organization, and maintenance of supplies (camp, donated shoes) for Dance Center activities.
Communicating, upholding and enforcing Dance Center policies, including COVID-19-related safety requirements, MMDG’s core values, Lobby and Studio policies.
Documenting and reporting injuries and medical emergencies, occurrences of trespassing, theft, disruptive or violent activity and any other health or safety related issues that occur at the Dance Center.
Supporting faculty needs including student information, class location, and resource requests.
Maintaining a standard of excellent customer service to all who come through our doors.
Serving as a Dance Center Floor Warden and assisting in the event of an emergency.
Supporting the maintenance of accurate information in software systems in real-time.

SCHEDULE: Minimum 20 hours per week on-site at the Dance Center; 3 shifts Monday-Friday and 1 shift on Saturday. Willingness to adjusted hours to support specialized programs and/or events is a plus.
Monday-Friday shift times: 2:30-7:30pm; Saturday shift times: 8:30am -1:30pm or 1-5pm.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in customer service situations.
Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience working with Mindbody, Zendesk, Active network a plus.
Compliance with MMDG COVID-19 Safety Plan and Vaccination Policy
REQUIRED TRAINING:
First Aid Certification + refresher courses offered annually
CPR/AED Certification + refresher courses offered annually
Dance Center Floor Warden Safety Training
Bystander / De-escalation Training – offered annually
COVID-19 related: MMDG COVID19 Safety Plan and Dance Center Health and Safety policies
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Part-time Hourly: $18/hr

Founded in 1980, the Dance Group performs the repertory of choreographer Mark Morris, hailed as the “the most successful and influential choreographer alive, and indisputably the most musical” (The New York Times), whose work is acclaimed for its ingenuity, musicality, wit, and humanity.
