Project Manager for January Site Specific Production

m i c c a seeks a creative thinking, experienced, and organized project manager for their production of P I N E happening in Rockaway Beach January 2022.  m i c c a is a movement based installation artist working in site specific dance performance.  This January, they are collecting and installing over 100 Christmas trees in the sands of Rockaway Beach for an installation and performance to communally process grief.  The installation will last January 5 - 25th with performances happening on the 8th, 15th, & 22nd.  The Project Manager will be required to oversee the development and efficient production of P I N E, coordinate communication, coordinate staff and scheduling, send out meeting notes and end of the day reports, and provide feedback to the performers and the artist.  The job requires the overlapping abilities of a stage manager, a rehearsal director, and a manager.  Applicants should have experience working in the performance arts, supporting artists to perform at their highest level, as well as incredible organizational skills.  We desire someone with a passion for community gatherings and a sense of adventure.  



Dates Required: 

Performances: Jan 8th, 15th, 22nd with rain dates on the 9th, 16th, & 23rd. 

Dress Rehearsal: Jan 7th 

Show prep: Jan 6th 

Work in Progress Showing in Dec plus one day before: Date tbd. Possibly Dec 11th - 12th or 18th - 19th

Plus weekly meetings on Mondays at 4pm 

 

Rate: $2000 flat rate - timeline of payment to be discussed 

Possibly housing for the work in progress showing, Jan 6-8th, 15th, & 22nd.

Role requires: 

Oversees a successful and efficient production of P I N E from December 1st - January 31st including timeline and logistics.  

Coordinate schedules for director, administrative staff, performers, production, & documentation. 

Assist in the planning and development of the production of p i n e.  

Coordinate communication of staff on performance days and events.  

Stage management - oversee a smooth production on the day of dress rehearsals and performance - call cues if there are any

Send out end of the day reports after our work in progress showing, dress rehearsal, and performances that includes what was successful, what we can improve, and tracking statistics of the audience - how much money was raised, ticket sales, number of audience, etc.  

Rehearsal Director - Gives feedback to choreographer and performers during two rehearsals, one in each residency.  

Plan & Manage Schedules 



 

Requirements: 

Experience as a stage manager, rehearsal director, and/or project manager

Experience working in the performing arts 

Excellent organization, directorial, and delegation skills 

Stellar communication skills in email, over the phone, and in person

Someone who is a creative problem solver and takes proactive initiative 

Ability to manage a variety of groups of people 

Ability to clearly direct and lead in busy and multifaceted events
