We Move: Art In Reflection (Looking for Choreographers)

mother Tobia St. Germaine

We Move: Art in Reflection showing on January 29th 7:30 PM at Rize Movement Arts Center in Philadelphia.

What is We Move?

We Move seeks to build a community of artists who want to expand their art forms and networks while offering value to the viewers who watch. WE believe dance is more than movement, and can be a vehicle for change in ourselves and in our communities. WE offers artists the platform to create work under certain themes and criteria which could ultimately lead to future collaborations with other movement artists, poets, and musicians. We Move believes in the journey not the product so meeting in clubs, bars, theaters, and other unconventional spaces allows us to share in a fun non judgmental light. The We Movement is here!

Art In Reflection

This show is curated for artists who want to explore "self" past, present, and future. Collaborators will take a vulnerable approach to making dance. Each participant will take a moment in the mirror and reflect on where they come from, where they are right now, where they are going, and journal thoughts that pop up in this self reflection. The artist then will conceptualize parts of those thoughts in a movement exploration that will be shown on Saturday, January 29th at 7:30 PM to a in person audience. This is a percfect way to put new years reolutions into movement practice.

Applying for We Move: Art In Reflection is the artist's commitment to this unique process of being honest, vulnerable, and willingness to self-reflect, put reflection into movement practice, and openly sharing this with other participants and audiences.

The piece can be finsihed or work in progress and should be choreographed on other dancers. We believe when creating on other dancers the journey of movement through self reflection will allow new conversations that will help manifest ideas as oppsessed choreographing on oneself.

Performances are held in our new space in Mannayunk, PA. Rize Movement & Arts Center's large studio  provides the opportunity to share past or new ideas in an intimate setting!
