Administrative/Production Intern for Ice Theatre of New York

Ice Theatre of New York seeks an administrative/production intern who desires experience in the gamut of skills and practices that go into non-profit performing arts management of a company dedicated to movement artistry on ice. We seek to engage the unique skills and interests of each individual with whom we work while helping students develop an aptitude for new and unfamiliar skills. We enthusiastically welcome interns into our management team, appreciating new voices and visions as an important and valued resource for the forward-looking development of Ice Theatre in both its professional production and community engagement missions.

We request that the intern, at whatever date they assume the commitment, be available to work with us through May 10, 2022, the day following our home season and gala featuring one commissioned premiere. Schedule will be flexible and negotiable as to best suit both the intern and Ice Theatre.

The internship will be particularly beneficial for students wishing to pursue a career in arts management with or without a skating background, budding choreographers, dance, ice, new media and visual media artists seeking to learn the logistics of producing artistic dance productions and projections on both real and synthetic ice, and individuals who desire to affect social change through the arts, to further ice dancing as a community cultural resource project in NYC, and/or to gain volunteer/community service hours in a creative and engaging environment. No prior experience in skating, dance or arts management required and responsibilities will be tailored and scaled to the time and growing ability of the intern.  The intern will have the opportunity to work closely with senior management and adjacent to choreographers and new media artists. Social media skills, aptitudes and creative ideas will be welcome.

With diversity and inclusion as core values, ITNY welcomes applications from Black, Indigenous, Immigrant and other minority candidates, people with disabilities and all gender identities.

ITNY cannot provide any financial support for relocation to NYC. Position advertised for immediate hire. Please email a resume and cover letter or any inquiries to DJ McDonald our HR consultant: vertices.org@gmail.com. A phone and/or Zoom or Google meeting can be arranged to answer any questions.
