Male Dance/Movement Instructors to work with children ages 8 – 17
MindLeaps seeks male-identifying instructors in NYC with backgrounds in education, dance, movement or sports. The instructors should have experience working with children. These are paid positions with paid on-the-job training. At least one position is available immediately.
BIPOC instructors are strongly encouraged to apply.
The dance / movement instructors will work on a team of certified MindLeaps trainers to support the social-emotional learning of children from under-resourced communities in New York City.
The MindLeaps curriculum harnesses the kinesthetic power of dance and movement to support 7 key social emotional and cognitive skills.
The male-identifying instructors will support the MindLeaps trainers as they teach the fun, aerobic classes consisting of a 45 minute warm-up, across-the-floor/diagonal, and choreography inserts. The instructors will have the opportunity to design and teach simple to advanced physical routines/inserts.
For the immediate position opening in Brooklyn: The age range of the children is 8 & 9 years old. Schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30pm to 7pm, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
Summer Openings in the Bronx: The age range of the children is 8 & 9 years old. Classes Monday, Tues, Wed afternoons July 11th through August 19th.
