Buggé Ballet and Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University invite you to be part of the fifth Liberty Hall Dance Festival, New Jersey’s historically inspired dance festival, on Saturday, September 24th from 1pm-4pm, with a rain date of Sunday, September 25th from 1pm-4pm. Applications are now open to be part of this outdoor site-specific festival.

In the past four seasons the festival brought together 50+ professional companies & choreographers from the tri-state area to the beautiful Liberty Hall Museum, performing for 550+ total attendees of all ages at site-specific outdoor locations. Choreographers have the opportunity to present work in a unique venue surrounded by picturesque nature. Dancer Jai Mason remarked about the inaugural event: "To say performing at Liberty Hall Dance Festival was a pleasure does not capture the wonders that the performers and visitors experienced during this amazing day of art and history. There was a sense of community and of art awareness and education, all done with the mutual core love of dance."

Liberty Hall Dance Festival welcomes historically inspired performances in any genre of dance and is appropriate for a diverse audience of all ages ranging from young children to seniors. Pieces will be performed two times at one of five site specific locations. In the event of rain, the festival will be held the next day, Sunday, September 25th.

Companies are invited to submit one piece between five and seven minutes in duration, for consideration. Each accepted piece will receive a $100 performance stipend and professional photos. Professional dance companies, independent choreographers and pre-professional dance programs are all welcome to apply.

All participants will be required to attend the performance on Saturday, September 24th from 1pm-4pm (Sunday, September 25th in the event of rain) and must be available for tech rehearsals in the morning of September 24th (Sunday, September 25th in the event of rain).
