Seeking Understudy Dancer/Actor for Mystical Feet Company Performances

AUDITION

Seeking experienced dancers who can act for Understudy position in NYC for

MYSTICAL FEET COMPANY.  Auditions will be held during week of September 26th, 2022.  Director/Choreographer Yehuda L. Hyman is looking for a trained dancer to understudy 3 performers for Mystical Feet's new devised work: "Secret of the Possible" which runs December 15-23 at Theater at the 14th Street Y on the Lower East Side, NYC. We are already in rehearsal."Secret of the Possible" is a modern adaptation of 3 short 18th Century Jewish mystical tales from Poland and Ukraine  It is highly theatrical and comic as well as dramatic. It is a meld of dance and storytelling.

 

This is a paid position.

 

Rehearsals are mostly on Sunday morning/afternoons and Mon./Tues evenings.

Most rehearsals are in Brooklyn.  Rehearsals will be indoors observing Covid precautions.

 

Looking for:

Dancers with solid dance technique (contemporary, jazz, ethnic...); expression; curiosity, intelligence and humor. Some acting training is helpful. The work is based in dance but is story-driven and all the roles are also speaking/acting roles.You will be understudying three actor-dancers so it's important that you are able to learn quickly.

Age Range: Over 21.

Not casting for any specific physical body type or gender. Interested in WHO you are.
