Apply for the LatinXtensions 2023 Cohort

David Herrera Performance Company's LatinXtensions Mentorship Program is the only comprehensive culturally centered mentorship and networking program in the United States. The 12-month program advises emerging Latinx dance artists in developing their professional artistic practice. Capacity building focuses on non-profit management skills, producing, grant writing practice, equity best practices, engaging communities, building artistic networks, articulating values, and long-term career goals. There will be two cohorts for the 2023 LatinXtensions program (limited spaces available for each):
1)  San Francisco/Bay Area cohort  
2) National cohort

Who is Eligible:
The program is open to any emerging self-identifying Latinx/e/a/o dance artist with under 5 years of self or organizational production experience and/or under 5 years of professional dance experience.  

The program is not currently open to high school students. Undergraduate and Graduate students may apply so long as applicants can attend scheduled sessions without long-term interruptions.  

You must be located in the SF/Bay Area to apply for the SF/Bay Area cohort.

You must be located in the U.S. to apply for the National cohort.

About the Program
The program runs January 2023 – December 2023
2.5-hour monthly cohort meeting
The SF/Bay Area cohort will have cohort meetings every third Thursday of the month 2pm - 4:30pm PST. Meeting will be held live in San Francisco for the SF/Bay Area Cohort.
The National cohort will have cohort meetings every third Thursday of the month 10am - 12:30pm PST. Meetings will be held virtually via Zoom for the National cohort.
30-minute monthly 1-on-1 meeting with David Herrera. Meetings can be live or via Zoom.
Attending 1 performance live or online every 2 months as a cohort. Tickets for performances provided by program.  
Meeting will include, but are not limited to: guest speakers from around the country, discussion on artistic practice, cohort sharing, and professional development writing practice.
Previous guest speakers have included Omar Roman De Jesus, Mark Rivera, Rosie Herrera, Alfonso Cervera, Vanessa Sanchez, Kyoung Park, Jackie Lopez, Irvin Gonzalez, and more.
