Director of Technical Production

 

Jacob’s Pillow seeks a Full Time Director of Technical Production to oversee all technical aspects of live performance production. The work requires skills in multiple creative and analytical fields. This position will direct all aspects of technical theater production, including, but not limited to hiring, supervising, scheduling and mentoring seasonal production professionals and production interns, advancing all shows, managing production schedules, and overseeing the production of all performances and events during the Festival and throughout the year. 

The Director of Technical Production ensures all aspects of the production work run smoothly and safely. Much of this is done by coordinating between the artistic and technical departments. The Director of Technical Production creates working plans that translate the designers’ ideas into workable plans for the production crew. They coordinate schedules for lighting, sound, scenic and other crew for appropriate time to set up their work onstage. The Director of Technical Production oversees the production managers to ensure artist’s safety and fulfillment of the artist’s vision.

The Director of Technical Production is a member of the senior staff and works closely with the Producing Director to plan and execute engagements at the Pillow as well as with the other program department heads (School, Community Engagement, Archives) as well as maintaining a partnership with the Director of Facilities.
