Interdisciplinary Performance Group Looking for Rhythmically Inclined Dancers for Experimentation

A dancer in black clothing dances on the floor on a large piece of paper. Cara Hagan

Interdisciplinary Artist and current artist-in-residence at the American Tap Dance Foundation Cara Hagan is looking to work with a small group of dancers who are rhythmically inclined (have many years of tap, body percussion, step, etc.) who also have contemporary dance experience to take part in five to six rehearsals beginning the second week of January, into the first two weeks of February to co-create with a group of vocalists. Vocalists will be working with primarily breath while dancers move and make sounds on large swaths of paper with socks on. There may also be a percussionist using brushes and snare for this project. Dancers will need to know some soft shoe or be willing to learn, as well as improvise and mix styles of movement. Fierce and generous collaborators only. Paid opportunity - $80/hr. Please fill out the google form linked by December 15th for full consideration. Dancers will be notified by December 20th of their status.
