Whim W’Him is seeking experienced contemporary dancers for the 2023-2024 season for a minimum of 30 weeks contract in Seattle, WA, starting in June 2023

Applicants for the NYC audition will be notified of selection on February 3, 2023.
Applicants for the Seattle audition will be notified of selection on February 10, 2023.


NEW YORK CITY AUDITION:

>> Dancers must be available for callbacks on Saturday and interview on Sunday

SEATTLE AUDITION:
Saturday 3/11/2023 1pm-6pm - Francia Russell Center - 1611 136th Pl NE Bellevue, WA 98005
Saturday 3/11/2023 6pm-8pm Interviews for select candidates Location TBD

Olivier Wevers, Artistic Director, will select dancers to audition in-person. Auditions will require proof of full vaccination and masks. The audition will be led by Karl Watson, Company Dancer and Company Manager.
Final candidates will be asked to partner.

The form will ask for the following information:
+ Name, address, phone number, email, date of birth (must be at least 18 years old to apply)
+ Resumé and a picture
+ 1 video of Studio or Performance Footage #1 (no password or text please, link only)
+ 1 video of Studio improvisation Footage #2 (no password or text please, link only)
+ 1 video of Studio or Performance including partnering Footage #3 (no password or text please, link only)
+ Personal Video Introduction - Tell us about yourself :) (max 2 min)
+ Proof of Vaccination

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
+ Contemporary dance background
+ Basic classical training
+ Partnering skills
+ Committed to the creative process - all new creations require engagement and creative participation
+ Works well and respectfully with others
+ Dancers must be at least 18 years old and able to work legally in the USA

START AND END DATES + DETAILS
+ Contracts begin June 2023

Workweek: Monday to Friday 9 am - 1 pm & 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm (Workdays falling on weekends during performance weeks)
+ $822.00 per week
+ Physical and Mental Health Stipend reimbursement of $2000.00 (for the season)
+ Free massage (3 hours/month)
+ Covered by the WA State Department of Labor and Industry

* This position requires an on-site presence in studios and theaters in Seattle and the surrounding areas. For our auditions, all individuals must be fully vaccinated to attend our auditions. This policy requires that all individuals entering our auditions in New York and Seattle, including employees, must: (1) be fully vaccinated (i.e., two weeks after receiving a bivalent booster following both doses of a two-dose vaccine or a single dose of a one-dose vaccine) with a COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO, and (2) provide Whim W’Him with such proof of vaccination in order for Whim W’Him to execute an employment contract.

We will do our best to accommodate your requests but cannot guarantee your selected time.
Please keep in mind NYC callbacks will take place from 3:00pm-7:00pm on Saturday, 3/4/23.
NYC interviews will take place from 10am to 12pm on Sunday, 3/5/23.

SEATTLE AUDITION will take place from 1pm to 6pm Saturday 3/11/23. Interviews will be held from 6pm-8pm.
