STILL SEEKING: Asian Male Lead (18-26) with both strong ACTING and DANCE experience. Role description below.

SORRY YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS is an 8-minute hybrid narrative-dance film in collaboration with Filmsupply Films and Musicbed, directed by Josh Leong (CHICKEN, Tribeca Film Festival 2022). Logline: 
A sudden anxiety attack strains the relationship of a young, emotionally volatile couple, in NYC.

*This project is being produced for Mental Health Awareness Month and values casting individuals who resonate and personally identify with its subject matter.

Please note: this role requires BOTH film acting and dance/movement experience. Applicants must have strong acting experience and take direction well. Experience with narrative film is beneficial. Applicants will be expected to submit an acting self-tape, as well as a 30-60 second improvisation routine.

Ethnicity: Asian, Southeast Asian / Pacific Islander
A recent college grad who's struggling with severe anxiety attacks. Introverted and ashamed of being a burden, he's often inarticulate and lacks healthy outlets for his emotions. Fronting a tough, aggressive exterior, he can only be calmed by his close friend, Ellie. He both craves and feels guilty for receiving her care. Nathan ultimately desires freedom from his dark thoughts, but he's terrified by his lack of control, over them. 

Dates:
Shoots March 18th & 19th in NYC metropolitan area.
Choreography rehearsals begin in February, dates TBD.

Compensation:
$300/day (3 days total)
Two shoot days, with four choreography rehearsals (3-hours each), billed as an additional shoot day. Talent will receive credit & finished film.

To Submit:

1) DIALOGUE TAPE
Film yourself seated (talking on the phone). Focus on emotion and facial performance.

2) DANCE TAPE
Film a 30-60 second full-body movement improvisation. Be creative! We want an idea of any dance background/intuitions. Feel free to choose any accompanying music that speaks to you. If you can't decide, one of our tonal inspirations is "Love Me Like You Hate Me" by Rainsford.
