CALL FOR CHOREOGRAPHY SUBMISSIONS! AkomiDance Company is looking for EAST COAST choreographers and dance companies to submit works to our 3rd Annual New Wave Dance Festival in NYC!

The New Wave Dance Festival was established by AkomiDance Company in 2018 to provide our pre-professional dancers (AkomiNu) with a performance opportunity in New York - arguably the concert dance capital of the world.  The production takes place in Manhattan and/or the surrounding boroughs and plays host to multiple professional dancers/companies from the New York Tri-state area, who are selected from a pool of applicants.  During the festival, our youth dancers interact and network with the NYC local professional dancers, exchanging contact information for such a time when they make the transition into the professional dance industry.

The concert will take place on the evening of Friday, April 14th, 2023, with tech rehearsal on that same day.

Please be advised that, if you are selected to present work in New Wave 2023, you will be expected to promote the event, guarantee support from your followers and community, and sell a certain amount of tickets pertaining to the size of your company.  We are a west coast based organization, and as such, do not enjoy a substantial support system on the east coast.

Applications are due on or before Monday, February 27, 2023.  Participants will be announced no later than Monday, March 13, 2023.
