4 Dancers wanted for Site-Specific Work in Brooklyn

Kaleid Dance Collective is hiring 4 dancers for a site-specific work in Park Slope, BK. Dancers must be available for the performance June 4th, 2023, as well as weekly rehearsals between April 1st - May 30th (rehearsal schedule to be set based on cast availability). Dancers must have a strong improvisational background and be comfortable with contemporary movement vocabulary. This piece is a site-specific work along the Gowanus Canal centering ideas around land stewardship, climate change, and Indigenous displacement. Indigenous dancers will be prioritized, but all are welcome to apply.

About Kaleid

Kaleid Dance Collective is an interdisciplinary artistic platform for creative experiments and exhibitions under the Artistic Direction of Rush Johnston. While Kaleid is modeled after a traditional dance company format, it also extends into visual and performing arts as a community-based platform. Through its multitude of media, Kaleid remains socially engaged making work around perception and identity, as well as inviting viewers to question proposed truths of self and social misunderstanding. Based in New York City, Kaleid self-produces shows and installations while also performing in arts festivals across the US and internationally.
