Site-Specific Screendance Film

a dancer explores the architecture of a bridge in new york city Laura Perdrizet

Casting four dancers for two scenes for an experimental screendance film, currently in production. Nomadic Mythologies is a movement journey in site-specific locations around NYC. The final piece will exist as both a 30 minute film (intended for festivals & cinema screenings), and as a 7 channel multi-media gallery installation. Film shoots are half days, with a mandatory rehearsal & costume fitting prior to the shoot. Dates in April / May / June TBD by the group. Filmmaker, Interdisciplinary Artist, and Professor Laura Perdrizet’s approach to directing & cinematography for this piece is based in choreo-cinema, with a focus on collaborative, interdisciplinary choreography, with minimal production elements, stylized costuming, and improvisational shoots in an experimental narrative style, the genre Laura has been crafting for over a decade.
