Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival: Round 6

A woman in yellow and blue glances against a half open paint glass window Mike Godlewski

Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival is dedicated to the concept of democratizing dance by taking it into the public sphere, exploring space and place, and intersecting creatively with the art of film.?

We accept films that are done in public and alternative spaces... films that use dance as an international language, films with dance that ventures off stages and out of studios into the realm of the public where unsuspecting passersby may encounter it. We are interested in dance films that creatively & beautifully explore what is possible at the intersections of dance and film... films that get inside of dance... films that speak dance as an international language - transcending borders, culture, religions, and other frequently perceived boundaries.

We welcome dance films that explore a multitude of human themes and stories both contemporary & timeless. D2D welcomes & celebrates all aspects, genres, and expressions of dance on film.

This year's judges include internationally renwoned & award winning choreographers, dancers, & filmmakers: KAROLE ARMITAGE, SAVION GLOVER, NINA McNEELY, and BENJAMIN SEROUSSI. Get your work seen!
