About Creative Outlet:

Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet (JGCO) Dance Theatre, formerly known as Creative Outlet Dance Theatre of Brooklyn, was founded in 2005 by Jamel Gaines. JGCO is considered one of Brooklyn’s premier contemporary dance companies, best known for its riveting, thought-provoking, and relatable repertory. The dance aesthetic encompasses classical, contemporary, and modern styles. For nearly 25 years, JGCO has assembled an extensive performance repertoire; with works presented across the United States and select international cities. There are five divisions to the organization, Dance Theater, Young, Artists, Cultural Arts Program, Arts In Education, and Summer Programs.

Job Responsibilities:

Work intermittently with Executive Artistic Director Jamel Gaines on the development, research, and production of new projects in the 23-24 season.

Focused on research, outreach & booking the professional Dance Theatre.

The opportunities to work on design/production, and development of new projects.

Requirements:

Excellent research, written, and verbal communication skills

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful

Comfortable contacting agents, producers, artistic advisers, and program officers, developing performance opportunities, and new programs

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple deadlines

Comfortable working independently and in collaboration with diverse personalities and work styles

An interest in communications with a broader desire to learn about how a values-driven non-profit dance theater runs is a plus.

Other:

It may include touring nationally and internationally with the company
