Seeking female dancer for dance film

Peggy Choy Dance company is casting female dancer for dance film with 5 dancers about a mythic goddess and the climate crisis, “Dreams of the Abandoned Daughter”. For a decade, Peggy Choy Dance has performed a unique Afro Asian dance fusion that combines Hip Hop dance with Asian dance forms and martial arts in New York premieres, including "The Greatest! Hip Homage to Muhammad Ali", “Thirst”, “Flight”. www.peggychoydance.com

2 NY AUDITIONS IN AUGUST: Location: Gibney Studios, 280 Broadway (entrance at 53A Chambers St.), NY, NY 10007. Must be on-time & warmed-up and ready to audition-rehearse at 10 am. (See details below)

1-Sat., August 5, 2023, 10 am - 12 noon

2-Sun., August 6, 2023, 10 am - 12 noon

Submission Details:
1-Submit cover letter to Peggy Choy (Director) that includes your contact information, note your availability for rehearsals in NY (during August-September 2023), and availability to travel to Madison,  Wisconsin for rehearsals and film shoot (7 days during sometime in October-November 2023)
2-Submit artist biography (training, expertise in at least 2 dance styles, include at least 2 references who can vouch for your dance expertise, professionalism, and responsibility
3-Submit mini-reel & digital photo (head shot)
 

Audition Details:

Must be approved by Director to audition. Footwear: May wear sneakers, jazz shoes, or barefoot. Be prepared to learn & perform dance choreography, demonstrate your expertise in at least 2 dance styles, & ability to improvise. Seeking responsible, mature female dancer with expertise in Asian and African diasporic dance styles, Hip Hop dance styles, Asian & Afro-Caribbean martial arts.
