Company Manager - FT - Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre

Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre/Notes in Motion, a 501(c)3 modern dance company and arts education vendor of the NYC Dept. of Education, is seeking a full-time Company Manager to develop, coordinate and implement a full schedule of performances, programs, events, residency, and touring engagements. The Company Manager will be a seasoned professional with 5 + years experience working in dance administration with experience in management and bookings. They will cultivate and build relationships with domestic and international universities, dance festivals, booking conferences, presenters, and theaters. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and team player who can work independently and efficiently, inspire and manage volunteers and interns, and deliver results.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Master’s a plus)
5+ years’ managerial experience in dance
Strong evidence of project management in a performing arts context 
Familiarity with CRM programs/Network for Good
Working knowledge of Google suite
Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented, highly organized, efficient, and ability to manage timely execution of proposals
Ability to be self-managed

ADVANCING the PERFORMANCE PORTFOLIO of AMANDA SELWYN DANCE THEATRE

• Cultivate and build relationships with domestic and international universities, dance festivals, booking conferences, presenters, and theaters. 

• Cultivate opportunities for cross-pollinated programs between Notes in Motion and Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre, community engagement, exposure for Amanda and her choreography.

• Strategize and build partner relationships to support site-specific and special performance events to build audiences and cultivate new supporters.

• Collaborate with Program/Marketing Associate and P/R Consultant to effectively market all events and productions with a focus on VIPs, Board, presenters, and funders. 

• Maintain vimeo archive and social media accounts and create strategic and engaging correspondence to stakeholders.

 

EVENT and ARTISTIC ACTIVITY PLANNING and MANAGEMENT

• Ensure the successful management and production and Company activities, including rehearsals, open studio events, performances, cultivation events, and galas. 

• Event planning including: catering, food/drink donations, gala committee development, live/silent auctions, décor, staff and volunteer schedules and roles, deliveries, production meetings; venue coordination and booking, transportation, vips, set-up, clean-up, run of show, programs, giveaways, lobby set-up and check-in.

• Track ticket sales internally on our own events and work with box office/front of house when presented

• Coordination of photo, and video in concert with production team

• Manage all touring and residencies including overseeing contracts, booking travel, meals, accommodation, and vaccinations. 

• Support Notes in Motion public events as an ambassador of the organization and facilitate logistics with staff and artists on site.

• Work with Production Stage Manager and Design Team to schedule timeline for design meetings and deadlines, fabrication/construction, storage, coordinating any rentals, load-in, and strike.

 

PARTNERSHIP BUILDING

• Serve as a point of contact and ambassador for the Board of Directors, encouraging and assisting with their engagement

• Support Board Development and Cultivation of High-End Donors

• Build Relationships with Corporate Supporters

• Support ongoing cultivation of school partners, relationships with public officials, and private foundation

• Advance Amanda’s and the organization’s role in the dance community by seeking out opportunities to expand visibility

• Facilitate site visits, intimate presentations, and special meetings with donors, presenters, and key individuals

 

ORGANZIATIONAL ADMINISTRATION

• Maintain the highest level of both internal and external communications. 

• Maintain our NFG database in collaboration with the Development Assistant and Marketing Director.

• Serve as the point of contact on matters such as scheduling and event timelines, rehearsal and performance space bookings, tour itineraries, payroll and benefits issues, attendance, sick leave, and vacation records. 

• Oversee and track all Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre internal and external contracts. 

• Maintain organization of all files in google drive

• Create, submit, and track all budget expenses for Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre production related activity. 

• Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of all Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre costumes, properties, and equipment. 

• Other tasks as needed.

 

Compensation Full Time Exempt $62,000/year; 3 weeks of vacation, 50% contribution towards health insurance
