Six Degrees Dance's affordable class series is designed to connect with new artists and offer affordable classes to our community. Come dance with us on October 7 from 4:30-6!

This class, taught by Six Degrees company member Eilish Henderson, focuses on what refers to as the "Amplified Body." The amplified body implies a hyper-sensitive physical vessel, amplified by both an internal and external awarenes of the landscape around the moving body. This class will focus on awakening physical texture. Through floor work, tactile prompts, and guided improvisation we will dive into the feedback we can receive from surfaces within our bodies as well as what transcnds beyond us.

Eilish Henderson (B.S. Hofstra University; M.A. New York University) is a movement artist working primarily with subjects of the body. She is interested in nourising the collective practice of translation through the written word, movement, and drawing. Her work seeks to explore resonance, discord, decay, and healing. Eilish has been a company dancer with Six Degrees Dance since 2018 and took on the role of Director of Community Engagement in 2022.

Location: New York Live Arts

Cost: $10 (Venmo, Cash, Zelle)

Classes will be held the first Saturday of each month.
