NYU TISCH SCHOOL OF THE ARTS | FREE INTENSIVE PROGRAM

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Future Dancers and Dancemakers Workshop is a free intensive program for first-years, sophomores, and juniors in high school. The program focuses on technical dance training, choreography, and performance.

The workshop is two-fold; providing exposure to the Tisch Dance Program while simultaneously reflecting an intensive environment mirroring that of the professional field through:

Concentration on technical dance training

Creative discussions to support choreographic work and the creative process

Discussions and Lecture/Demonstrations with Tisch Alumni, current Tisch faculty, and professional choreographers

Supplementary coursework in theory, composition, improvisation, history of dance, music, dance and technology, and more

 

QUALITIES OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE

- High School first-year, sophomore, or junior during the fall 2023 - spring 2024 school year
- Strong technical foundation in dance and movement composition
- Academic achievement
- Ability to work in collaboration with other young artists
- A firm commitment to completing the entire workshop, which will be held on 14 Saturdays from February 3 through May 11, 2024

This program meets weekly on Saturdays, February 3, 2024 through May, 11 2024.
