With a history of proscenium stage, beachside, and virtual venues, Show Up & Dance is Dance New Jersey’s long-running performance series that features the NJ dance community in action. With performances by professionals, emerging choreographers, dance studios, public schools, and students, this showcase connects the extended dance community, reveals the diversity of artistry and dance forms statewide, and elevates the role of dance in New Jersey’s creative landscape.

Application Information

Submission sample can be either a completed proposed work, or work in process to be performed. Submissions of work still in process must include a short statement describing plans for the work.

Each individual member and organization member may only submit 1 entry. This performance opportunity is limited to New Jersey-based artists, choreographers and dancers. All applicants must have a current DNJ membership.

Applicants must submit an application fee of $40, which goes towards production fees. $30 will be refunded if we are unable to include the proposed piece in the concert. Payments can be made HERE.

Submissions will be adjudicated by DNJ Staff and Board Members. Performance order will be decided by DNJ, and DNJ will produce and manage all aspects of the concerts. The goal of each concert is to highlight the diverse range of artistry and dance forms from across the state. Decision notifications will be made by December 18, 2023.
