Opportunity for Caregiver with Movement Experience

 

Looking for a compassionate and caring individual with movement experience for a part-time opportunity as a caregiver to a 35-year-old woman with physical and intellectual challenges. This woman uses a wheelchair and a walker and relies on daily movement practices to enhance her life. She is a highly-motivated, good-natured, kind, and gentle person who enjoys a large social network, and loves to sing, draw, listen to music, drink coffee, and meet new people. Caregivers assist with basic daily activities and movement practices and act as a companion to this woman. The team of caregivers is made up of dance artists.

All caregivers receive 16-20 hours of paid hands-on training before starting.

 

Requirements: 

- Available to commit long-term to work one or two days per week, 11am-7pm. Building a relationship is of utmost importance.

- Live within reasonable commuting distance of the NW Bronx (link to a reference of the area)

- Comfortable taking directions, collaborating with peers, and working among special needs/disabled individuals. 

- Fully vaccinated 

- Women only, please

- Legally allowed to work in the US

- Saturday and/or flexible availability preferred
