Welcome Dancers 

 

Shades Dance Theater invites talented dancers to audition for our 2024 programming year. As a mixed repertory dance company, we showcase a diverse range of styles. We seek dancers with strong Ballet technique (pointe work, while not required, is highly encouraged), as well as proficiency in Modern and Contemporary techniques. Individuals trained in Jazz, Dunham, West African, and Hip-Hop are welcome to audition. Given our mixed repertory focus, dancers should demonstrate versatility across styles and possess advanced training.

While this opportunity involves travel and touring, including our annual tour to Atlanta, GA, please note that it is not a full-time contract.

Shades Dance Theater embraces diversity, welcoming dancers of all races and ethnic backgrounds to audition. Artists of color are particularly encouraged to participate. We look forward to seeing the talent and diversity you bring to our auditions for an unforgettable 2024 season.

Our auditions are by invitation only. Selected dancers will receive an invitation to participate in a private rehearsal workshop where they will learn company repertoire and have the opportunity to ask questions.

To be considered for an invitation, please submit the following:

1. Dance reel

2. Resume

3. Headshot/Action shot

4. Two references

Once you have submitted the required materials, our artistic team will review your submission. If selected, you will be contacted with details about the workshop.
