Whim W’Him is seeking experienced contemporary dancers for the 2024-2025 season for a minimum of 30 weeks contract in Seattle, WA, starting in late May 2024.

SEATTLE: Saturday 3/9/24 – Callbacks & Interviews: Sunday 3/10/24

Applicants for the Seattle audition will be notified of selection on February 9, 2024.

Olivier Wevers, Artistic Director, will select dancers to audition in-person.
The audition will be led by Karl Watson, Company Manager and Director of Education.
No warm up will be provided.
The first round will consist of repertoire and improvisation.
Final candidates will be asked to partner.

Friday 3/1/24 – 7:15pm-10:00pm Group 2
Saturday 3/2/24 – 5:00pm-9:00pm Callbacks for select candidates
Sunday 3/3/24 – 10:00am-12:00pm Interviews for final candidates (Location TBD)
Dancers must be available for callbacks on Saturday and interview on Sunday.

SEATTLE AUDITION:

Whim W’Him Contemporary Dance Center – 1716 2nd Ave N
Saturday 3/9/24 – 3:15pm-6:00pm – Group 1
Saturday 3/9/24 – 6:15pm-9:00pm – Group 2
Sunday 3/10/24 – 10:30am-2:30pm Callbacks for select candidates
Sunday 3/10/24 – 2:30pm-4:30pm – Interviews for select candidates
Dancers must be available for callbacks and interviews on Sunday.

Contemporary dance background
Basic classical training
Partnering skills
Committed to the creative process – all new creations requires engagement and creative participation
Works well and respectfully with others

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Dancers must be at least 18 years old and able to work legally in the USA.
We are unable to sponsor visas for foreign workers.
Only U.S. citizens or those currently possessing a valid visa or green card will be considered.
This position requires an on-site presence in studios and theaters in Seattle and the surrounding areas.

DATES + DETAILS

Contracts begin late May 2024

Minimum of 30 weeks contract in Seattle, WA
Workweek: Monday to Friday 9am – 1pm & 1:30pm – 4pm (Workdays falling on weekends during performances, intensives, and special events)
$900.00 per week
Physical and Mental Health Stipend reimbursement of $2,000 (for the season)
On-site Physical Therapy Program
Free massages (3 hours/month)
Covered by the WA State Department of Labor and Industry
Teaching opportunities at company intensives
Option to join the faculty of the Whim W’Him Contemporary Dance Center
