Homeport Art House: Artist Residency - APPLY
Homeport Art House's Dance-Artist in Residence application is now OPEN!
The mission of Homeport Art House Residency is to offer artists the freedom to create work in a comfortable home environment, supported by Maine’s natural beauty, and to engage with the local community by sharing their process through informal presentations, workshops, or other offerings. Each residency is a total of 6 full days at Homeport Art House.
This residency takes place on the grounds and home of co-director Dale Andree in mid-coast rural Maine. With the dance studio right above the garage artists will be living just steps away from their creative space. However, we encourage artists to look beyond the studio walls and take in the beauty and inspiration of the surrounding water, forest, and fields.
Expectations of Community Engagement
Artists are expected to engage with community while in residence. If selected artist will determine their engagement with the residents of South Thomaston and how that engagement will best support their work. The opportunity for exchange and for learning exists equally for the artists and the community. HAH is committed to supporting artists who have a clear sense of the importance of this reciprocity. Basic marketing and technical assistance for these exchanges will be supported on-site.
