Shadowboxing in Blue Ensemble

A group of dancers in a blue lit boxing ring. Lisabel Leon

Project Title: Shadowboxing in Blue

Project Overview: "Shadowboxing in Blue" is an innovative, multidimensional project led by Lauren Hlubny, Franco-American company Danse Theatre Surreality and Haven Boxing, weaving dance, boxing, and an original score for musician quartet. This collaboration between dancers, boxers, and musicians explores an individual facing inner adversaries at different life stages. The 75-minute performance promises an immersive experience where movement, music, and narrative seamlessly intertwine. This project challenges traditional notions of an artistic audience and boxing match spectators, making the therapeutic aspects of both performing arts and boxing accessible to all. Our commitment to diverse casting and a modular design aims for inclusivity and representation, fostering a transformative, community-healing experience.
