Summer '25 Career Opportunities - John Cranko School Summer Intensives/ International Contemporary Masters

ASE is a New York based non-profit established in 1997 and is known for fostering people-to-

people dialogue between people of the US and Eurasian countries through Arts, Sports, and

Education. Our initiatives are recognized and valued by participants, staff, alumni, as well as by

the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs, American Councils for

International Education, and many others. ASE’s acclaimed programs John Cranko School

Summer Intensive and International Contemporary Masters Workshop bring together leading

Teachers, Artists, Choreographers of classical ballet and contemporary dance.

We welcome candidates with strong interests in: performing arts, global languages/cultures

(especially Eurasian), sports medicine, and/or youth education to join our Summer ’25 Team!

 

1) POSITION: Program Assistant - CT (6/30 – 8/9/25)

PA will be responsible for supporting and overseeing participants (ages 9 -15yrs), as well as

running some extracurricular/non-dance activities (outdoor games, arts & crafts, etc.). PAs will

work as a team of 3-4 and will report to the Program Director.

REQUIRED: Residency on campus (single AC rooms), experience with overseeing youth.

BENEFITS: $3,000 - $3,500 for the period (combination of wages/bonuses), housing & meals, 5 days off.

 

2) POSITION: Program Assistant - CT (7/14 – 8/9/25)

PA will be responsible for supporting and overseeing participants (ages 9 -15yrs), as well as running some extracurricular/non-dance activities. PAs will work as a team of 3-4 and will report to the Program Director.

REQUIRED: Residency on campus (single AC rooms), experience with overseeing youth. 7/14 & 7/15 will be remote training. Staff expected to arrive on-campus 7/16 by 2pm.

BENEFITS: $2,000 - $2,500 for the period (combination of wages/bonuses), housing & meals, 3 days off.

 

3) POSITION: Sr. Staff / Musical Theater - CT (6/30 – 8/9/25)

Sr. Staff, specializing in either Musical Theater, will be responsible for implementing a

fun, engaging curriculum of interactive activities for the dancers. Sr. Staff will have about 3-4

groups/day/6-day week (each group has the activity 4-5 times/week). Ability to teach a stretch

class is a benefit. Some participant supervisory duties will be assigned also.

REQUIRED: Residency on campus, experience teaching MT or Pilates for youth.

BENEFITS: $4,000 for the period, housing & meals, 5 days off.

 

4) Athletic Trainer Internship - CT (6/30 – 8/9/25)

An immersive opportunity for qualified Athletic Training students with interest in performing arts to support young dancers taking part in acclaimed John Cranko School Summer Intensive and International Contemporary Masters programs). Take part in supporting the training regimen of elite dancers (ages 9-15 years old) and the related challenges/issues/needs which arise during their intensive training program. Interns will be exposed to treatment plans and injury prevention practices of Program’s Athletic Trainers (ATs) as well as Program’s long-term cooperation with NYU Langone Medical Center Medical School’s Harkness Center for Dance Injuries

REQUIREMENTS: A junior level or higher in your Athletic Training Education Program

BENEFITS: Full Room and Board (single A/C room) / 5 days off / $2000 stipend for the period + Travel contribution if out of state.

 

*Travel allowance for out of state candidates. Free shuttle from / to NYC.

** Some asynchronous trainings will be required prior to start.

***6/30 & 7/1 will be remote training. Staff expected to arrive on-campus 7/2 by 2pm.

 

LIVING ON CAMPUS

Staff reside in single AC rooms with other staff and participants in the same dorm. Dining facility

operated by Flik, a leading provider of healthy & nutritious dining for schools.

On-site fitness center for exclusive use of staff during their time off.
