Al Son Son

Flamenco dancers on stage with their arms raised in the air

Al Son Son is a celebration of the sights and sounds of Spanish Flamenco, created by the maestros Sonia Olla & Ismael Fernandez and performed by their New York students in recital.

Sonia and Ismael are Spanish Flamenco artists currently residing in New York and have worked with a variety of artists, from pop starts Madonna and Ricky Martin to jazz musicians to classical musicians to electronic artists. Their students represent the diversity of New York City, and the recital reflects their latest season of learning and understanding of Flamenco. The title of the concert, Al Son Son translates roughly to mean “Take us to the rhythms (grooves / swings) of the heart of Flamenco.”
