Apply to perform your work at BAND with MMDC

Apply to BAND at Spoke the Hub

As the winner of Spoke the Hub's Winter Follies 2017, Mari Meade Dance Collective / MMDC was awarded three nights of shows: Friday, November 16th, at 7:30 pm; Saturday, November 17th, at 2 pm; and Saturday, November 17th, at 7:30 pm. We would like to use this opportunity to band together artists that would benefit from presenting work together. Bands often perform with their peers, and we believe this to be mutually beneficial arrangement for dance, too. Audiences, resources, networking, opportunity—all rolled into one.

BAND will consist the three performances produced by Spoke the Hub at Old First Reformed Church, 727 Carroll Street, Brooklyn. The perfomances will include MMDC repertory, as well as the work of 2–4 guest choreographers each show. Guest choreographers may apply with a piece of 10 minutes or less to be considered for one or two shows. If selected to perform in one show, they will receive $30; for two, $50. There will be a required meeting for choreographers on Friday, November 9th, from 5–7 pm, to discuss application processes and resources for emerging artists. We request that selected pieces not be performed in NYC in November.

There is a $10 application fee payable via venmo to @Mari-Meade. There will be a five-person panel, consisting of three MMDC members and two guests, who will curate the show.
