Arts for All: Professional Development Workshop for Music & Dance Educators

This interactive session explores strategies for developing K-5 music and dance curricula that inspire supportive classroom communities and enable students of all abilities to work cooperatively on in-depth units of discovery in inclusive classrooms.

Schedule:

2-4 pm — Dance educators work with master dance teacher Judith Nelson to develop tools for teaching creative dance, modern and ballet to children of all abilities in K-5 classroom and studio settings.

2-4 pm — Music educators work with curriculum developer Sheri Gottlieb to explore strategies for teaching music to children of all abilities in K-5 classroom and settings. Participants will learn how to adjust their lessons to better engage with all students in a variety of learning environments.

4-6 pm — Dance and music educators come together to discuss challenges that they face in their respective classrooms and have the chance to workshop their own music and dance curricula.
