AXIS CONNECT is a bicoastal platform connecting emerging and professional dancers with industry leaders. Led by its founders, the Barton sisters, Axis Connect brings together world-class dance artists - Choreographers, Dancers, Teachers, and Industry leaders - from around the world for three weeks of intensive classes, workshops, creative process, rehearsals, panels, networking, and intimate discussion in both Los Angeles and New York City. 

Designed for dancers 18+ who would classify themselves as renegades, boundary pushers, savvy artists, and dancers with curious spirits; the mission of Axis Connect enables you to Carve Your Own Path as a fearless, connected artist. We bridge the gap between the commercial and concert dance worlds, the NYC and Los Angeles dance scenes and the necessary transition between the institution and professional dance industry by providing the experience, skills, and exposure fundamental for career success.

Three weeks of intensive classes, workshops, creative process, rehearsals, panels, networking, and performance opportunities in both Los Angeles and New York City are offered to dancers accepted to the program upon audition. Scholarships are available. Past seasons have included Sonya Tayeh, Peter Chu, Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot, Tony Testa, Stephanie Klemons, Alan Tudyk, Aszure Barton, the work of Alexander Ekman and numerous others.

Numerous Axis Connect alumni have been offered professional contracts as a direct result of the program, working with Barton Movement, Sonya Tayeh, Peter Chu, on Broadway in Hamilton: An American Musical and television shows, video campaigns, short films and more. Many dancers have also signed with talent agencies in New York  and Los Angeles.

INTENSIVE TAKES PLACE Jul 29 through Aug 9 in New York City at THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL and continues to Los Angeles at the celebrated CENTERSTAGING STUDIOS from Aug 12 through Aug 17. The program culminates in a performance event in LA at CentreStaging Studios on Aug 17 and is attended by influential producers, talent agents, talent managers, and other potential recruiters to watch participants at the peak of their training weeks.
