Class Description: 

“Rasta’s 1 Hour Ballet Warm Up” is an in center class that will flow, groove and jam from plies to small jumps. Exercises will be challenging, fun and full of movements that explore your technique and passion. Class will be set to a wide variety of music so be ready to move.

Recommended ballet level: Strong Beginner+

Note: Class vocabulary may at times extend beyond classical ballet.

Teacher Bio: Rasta Thomas trained in martial arts and gymnastics before ballet. He became a professional dancer at age 13 and is the recipient of numerous awards, including Gold Medals from the 1996 Varna International Ballet Competition and the 1998 Jackson International Ballet Competition. During his career he has traveled to 50 countries and worked with over 25 professional dance companies including Dance Theater of Harlem and American Ballet Theater. After starring in Twyla Tharp’s hit Broadway show “Movin Out”, Rasta created his own dance company Bad Boys of Dance 2007. He later held the position of resident director at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles and in 2019 was appointed the Artistic Lead for the International Association of Blacks in Dance. Today he continues to share his art as a dancer, director, producer, choreographer and teacher.
