Batalá Hey! Samba Reggae Sundays at Cumbé!

Green, orange and red flyer

Join us for afternoons of rhythm and fun while diving into Afro-Brazilian percussion from Bahia, Brazil! Batala New York will be offering a monthly workshop all summer.

During the workshop (2-3:30 pm), you'll receive group instruction focused on rhythms, technique, body positioning, and light choreography. Learn about the different roles and conversations between the drums, all while grooving to the beat!

Stay for the open rehearsal (4-6 pm) and play alongside members of Batala New York! No experience is necessary – all genders and ages are welcome. Instruments and gear will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

You won't want to miss a single session! Sign up now to drum on Sunday, June 9th from 2-3:30!

Samba Reggae Sundays will run June 9th, July 7th, and August 4th.
