Black Swan: Solidarity Beyond Colored Pointe Shotes

Dance Iquail, in partnership with Dance/NYC and the Harlem Arts Alliance, will present a free panel discussion titled "Black Swan: Solidarity Beyond Colored Pointe Shoes," which will examine how dance as an art form can help organizations and individuals deal with the importance of resilience and the stress of racial segregation and diminished resources.   The distinguished panel includes dance historian Zita Allen; dance pioneer Delores Brown; Karen Brown, former Artistic Director of the Oakland Ballet; Andrea Long-Naidu, former dancer with NYCB and DTH, Iquail Shaheed, and moderator Baraka Sele, independent arts consultant, former VP of Programming at NJPAC.
