Butoh classes New York with Vangeline

Butoh classes New York with Vangeline Brian Kwon

Butoh is an avant-garde performance art form which originated in Japan in the 1950's. Vangeline's Butoh classes incorporates Japanese Butoh, Bio-energetics, core energetics, elements of Noguchi gymnastics, and guided imagery to offer a high-energy workshop adapted to level of fitness of each student. Vangeline has taught and choreographed butoh in New York for the past thirteen years. This unique training is an invaluable tool for dancers, actors, adult beginners, encouraging participants to open up and expand physically and energetically. This workshop creates a gentle and supportive environment to start an individual and collective process of investigation through creative movement.

Our Butoh classes are by suggested donation, which means that no one will ever be turned down for lack of funds.
