Call Out For Dancers

Peacock Lake

Balbir Singh Dance Company (BSDC), London (UK), is looking for high level dancers for their upcoming production Peacock Lake, an innovative new take on Swan Lake set on ice. 

Peacock Lake in partnership with Billingham International Folklore Festival of World Dance, is a spectacular ground-breaking show that brings together for the first time, ice skating, contemporary dance, Kathak, and traditional World dance, with live music and a cast of over 200 performers from around the world.

This modern take on Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake places the majestic peacock centre stage, as portrayed in Russian and Indian folkloric tradition. 


Required skills 

BSDC welcomes applications from professional performers with a strong background in contemporary dance and also Kathak dancers, with or without ice-skating skills.

Performance dates

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August 2017.

Rehearsal schedule to be finalised.

BSDC is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation based at Yorkshire Dance, Leeds and was previously a Royal Opera House ACE Links Scheme partner. The company creates cross art form and sports collaborations including previous work Champion of the Flatlands (BMX) at Southbank's Urban Festival, Synchronised Cultural Olympiad 2012 swimming pool spectacular, Full Contact Rugby League World Cup.
