Contemporary Dance & Performance NYC Summer Intensive

Contemporary Dance & Performance NYC Summer Intensive

The Francesca Harper Project is excited to host the First Annual Contemporary Dance & Performance NYC Summer Intensive July 25th- August 4th, 2016! The ten day interdisciplinary intensive provides an inspiring environment to train rigorously with world renowned instructors and choreographers, as well as perform for and network with industry professionals at a studio showing in the beautiful and historic Alvin Ailey Studios. More than just a dance intensive, artists will have the opportunity to explore across disciplines and learn how to bring a new level of honesty and freedom to their personal work.

Faculty includes Francesca Harper, Brian Reeder, Helen Pickett, Alan Barnes, Stefanie Batten Bland, Jean Emile, and Tiffany Rea-Fisher!* Repertoire classes include works of William Forsythe, Nederlands Dans Theater, Brian Reeder, Stefanie Batten Bland, Tiffany Rea-Fisher, and Francesca Harper.

The intensive is open to pre-professional and professional level artists ages 15 and up. Participants must demonstrate exceptional technique, be open to exploring new forms, and have a deep appreciation for collaboration and interdisciplinary work. The Intensive will provide a challenging, yet safe, space for exploration and discovery.

A limited number of spaces are available. Registration is currently open and available to any interested artists; however, all registration is subject to review and approval by The Francesca Harper Project Summer Intensive Staff. Artists are asked to strongly consider their level before registering as all classes will be at the professional level. Artists under age 18 must have parental consent.
