Creating Experiential Theater: Section 2

Creating Experiential Theater: Section 2 Photo by Joe Mazza Brave Lux [http://bravelux.com]

Led by Tom Pearson, Co-Artistic Director of Third Rail Projects, this three-hour workshop is part of a series which focuses on distilling theatrical conflict into direct action and letting the physical impulse lead the way. We will look at several approaches to movement-based theater and site-specific approaches, referencing contemporary dance, parkour, martial arts, and physical theater practices. This section of the series explores the crafting of intimate one-on-one experiences between the performer and the audiences. For cumulative skill building, we encourage taking this course alongside Section 1: Conflict with Environment, Objects, Self, offered on November 12.

3 hours – $40
Held at Kingsland Ward (directions)
*Open to all skill levels. A dance or theater background is not required, but a willingness to move, speak and experiment with various performance techniques is requisite.
